Journey with Seun Dede (J30)

A Journey of Worship, Service, Sound, Teaching, Leadership, and Kingdom Expression

Minister Seun Dede, whose full name is Ekoko Oritseseundede Weyinmi Isaac, is a Nigerian gospel music minister, worship leader, teacher, keyboardist, mentor, creative, and ministry builder whose life and work are deeply shaped by a conviction that worship is more than music—it is a posture, a lifestyle, and a responsibility.

His ministry expression sits at the intersection of worship, sound, the Word, mentorship, service, creativity, and spiritual formation. Through music, teaching, conferences, mentorship initiatives, worship gatherings, and creative projects, Seun Dede has consistently pursued one central burden: to raise worshippers and equip people who will faithfully serve God's purpose in their generation.

He is the Founder and Lead Steward of Worship Mandate Ministries (WMM), a ministry established not as a replacement for the local church, but as an equipping platform for laborers already serving within different expressions of the Body of Christ. His vision is particularly concerned with the development of ministers—their spirituality, technical competence, character, service, leadership, and ability to steward the sound and assignment God has entrusted to them.

In recent years, this burden has increasingly moved from simply doing ministry to intentionally building people, systems, platforms and expressions that can outlive individual moments.

THE JOURNEY BEHIND THE MINISTER

The story of Seun Dede is not simply a story of rapid success. It is a story of delay, persistence, service, growth, faith, and gradual construction.

One of the defining seasons of his personal journey has been his unusually prolonged academic experience at the University of Lagos. His university journey extended for more than a decade, creating a season that was emotionally and practically difficult.

Despite the frustration of prolonged schooling, administrative challenges, poor guidance at different points, and the feeling of watching time move while still remaining within the academic system, he continued to pursue his education while simultaneously developing as a musician and minister.

His course of study at UNILAG was metallurgical and materials engineering.

His final-year project was titled "Techno Economic Analysis of Plastic Waste being Refined to Final Material through Pyrolysis.”

The prolonged academic season became part of a much larger personal story: learning how to continue believing, serving and building even when progress did not happen according to the expected timetable.

At different points, he had to navigate studentship extensions, academic administration, financial pressures, and the emotional weight that the delay created within his family.

Yet the same period also saw considerable growth in his ministry, music, and leadership.

The tension between where he expected to be and where he actually was became part of his personal formation.

It taught him persistence.

It taught him patience.

It taught him responsibility.

And increasingly, it taught him that a person's journey cannot always be measured by conventional timelines.

THE WORSHIPPER

At the heart of Seun Dede's ministry is worship. He is particularly known for his expressive approach to worship.

His musical language is not built primarily around complicated displays of technical ability. Instead, he has developed a distinctive approach involving sustained chords, strings, pads, and atmospheric voices, allowing individual sounds—particularly pads—to function as expressive voices rather than simply background accompaniment.

For him, the keyboard is not merely an instrument used to accompany a singer.

It can become part of the worship conversation.

The sustained chord, the movement of a pad, the choice of voicing, the restraint of a progression, the timing of a transition, and the space between sounds can all communicate something.

This philosophy has informed his desire to teach younger keyboardists and worship musicians not only what to play but also how to understand musical flow, worship dynamics, foundational music concepts, and the spiritual responsibility of serving behind a worship expression.

His teaching philosophy increasingly seeks to combine:

  • Musical foundations

  • Chord understanding

  • Sound selection

  • Worship flow

  • Stage awareness

  • Rehearsal culture

  • Spiritual preparation

  • Service

  • Creativity

  • Excellence

  • Personal musical expression

His own technique is important to him, but he does not want upcoming musicians to simply copy his sound. He wants them to understand the principles behind good worship musicianship and eventually discover their own authentic expression.

MUSIC

Music has remained one of the major vehicles through which Seun Dede expresses his worship ministry.

His discography and developing musical journey include his albums:

This Worshippers' Journey: His debut album, reflecting the language of a worshipper's personal journey.
Ancient Wells: His second major album/project, continuing his exploration of worship and spiritual depth.

Jesus: A newer musical expression centered explicitly around Christ.

Anthems: A future project positioned as the next major chapter of his musical journey.

His music is not isolated from his ministry philosophy. The projects are part of a broader attempt to document spiritual experiences, worship expressions, and revelations through sound.

THE WORSHIPPERS' WORD CONFERENCE

Another major part of Seun Dede's ministry development has been the teaching platform surrounding The Worshippers Word.

The Worshippers Word Conference, which began as a virtual teaching expression, has become part of his larger burden to teach worshippers beyond the surface-level understanding of music.

The virtual conference reached more than 1,000 participants, demonstrating that the teaching burden could extend beyond physical gatherings.

This teaching expression also developed into ministerial resources.

The resource explores worship beyond singing and performance, including the attitudes, postures, and understanding that should shape the life of a worshipper.

Contributors and sessions connected to the wider teaching work have included ministers such as Pastor Dolapo Lawal, Paul Tomisin, Ayodele Okegbenro, Joshua and Laura Banjo, Temitayo Adubi, Toju Ekoko, Iyinoluwa Onduru, Tilewa Emmanuel, Emmanuel Imumohi, and a plethora of many other ministers.

The underlying philosophy is simple but weighty: A worshipper must understand what worship means before merely learning how to lead worship.

WORSHIP MANDATE MINISTRIES

Seun Dede is the founder and lead steward of Worship Mandate Ministries (WMM). WMM is intentionally positioned as an equipping ministry, rather than a conventional local church. Its purpose is not to encourage people to abandon their churches or primary ministry assignments.

Instead, WMM seeks to serve laborers from different churches and ministry expressions by providing:

  • Teaching

  • Mentorship

  • Ministerial development

  • Worship training

  • Leadership development

  • Platforms for expression

  • Missions

  • Community

  • Spiritual formation

  • Practical ministry resources

This distinction is central to Seun Dede's philosophy of ministry.

He does not see ministry as a competition for people.

He sees the Body of Christ as a field containing many laborers who need to be strengthened for their different assignments.

THE STRUCTURE OF WMM

As the ministry matured, Seun Dede began thinking beyond individual events and toward organizational structure.

WMM has been conceptualized around several major arms:

Administrative Arm

Focused on workforce, departments, and the systems required to make the ministry function effectively.

Ministerial Directorate

Focused on the growth and development of ministers.

Ministerial Acquaintanceship

Focused on relationships and platforms involving ministers who can contribute to the ministry's wider assignment.

Missions

Focused on taking the ministry's burden beyond its immediate environment through communities and branches.

This reflects an important evolution in Seun Dede's leadership:

moving from simply organizing programs to building an organization capable of sustaining an assignment.

FOURSQUARE AND LOCAL CHURCH SERVICE

Seun Dede is a committed member and worker within the Foursquare Gospel Church family and has remained involved in church-based ministry while developing WMM. His involvement has included worship, teaching, planning, and leadership responsibilities.

He has served within the expanding district/axis structure and has been involved in program planning, including serving as chairman of an axis/district program planning committee.

His ministry engagements have included speaking and ministering within and outside Foursquare and other related settings. His relationship with the local church is important to the architecture of his ministry philosophy. The goal is not independence from the church. The goal is service to God's people and development of laborers within the wider Body of Christ.

TEACHING AND MINISTERIAL FORMATION

Seun Dede's ministry increasingly carries a strong teaching component.

He has taught around subjects, including

  • Worship

  • The Word

  • Spirituality

  • Worship leadership

  • Service

  • Musical excellence

  • Ministerial development

  • Prayer

  • Character

  • Leadership

  • Sound

  • Rehearsal

  • Stage ministry

  • Ministry relationships

  • The responsibilities of worshippers

  • Grattitude

RAISING SOUNDS INITIATIVE—RSI—Raising Sound Individuals.

One of the clearest expressions of Seun Dede's transition from simply leading worship to intentionally raising people is RSI

RSI is designed around the development of upcoming worshippers and ministers, particularly students and young people who are discovering their place in worship ministry.

The initiative approaches development from multiple dimensions.

1. SPIRITUALITY

The first concern is the person behind the sound.

RSI emphasizes spiritual formation, prayer, devotion, understanding of worship, and the development of a genuine relationship with God.

2. TECHNICALITY

The initiative also recognizes that spirituality does not remove the need for competence.

RSI addresses practical areas such as

  • Rehearsal

  • Stage preparation

  • Profiling

  • Recording

  • Musical development

  • Technical preparation

  • Worship team dynamics

3. MENTORSHIP

The initiative creates opportunities for younger worshippers to learn from people who have gone ahead of them.

The goal is not merely information transfer.

It is relationship, observation, correction, encouragement, and development.

4. SERVICE

RSI teaches that ministry is not primarily about visibility. The worshipper must learn how to serve.

This includes understanding submission, preparation, teamwork, excellence, and the responsibility that comes with being entrusted with a platform. The RSI expression has grown into masterclasses and virtual gatherings designed to provide practical development for worshippers.

Seun Dede combines worship experience with intentional instruction rather than separating spiritual encounter from practical development.

RSI has also included an educational/assessment dimension, including exams designed around the knowledge and development of worshippers. This reflects the increasingly structured nature of the initiative. It is not only a program. It is becoming a development ecosystem.

WORSHIP GOD

Another major recurring expression in Seun Dede's ministry is WORSHIP God.

The program has expanded into different locations and expressions, with the most recent editions including:

Worship God Lagos 2026 themed “The Predeterminate Counsel of God 1”

Worship God Shagamu, and Worship God Magboro 2026-themed “Alpha and Omega."

The vision behind Worship God is consistent with Seun Dede's wider burden: creating environments where people encounter God through worship, the Word, and spiritual expression. The developing Worship God Nigeria vision represents an even broader geographical expression of this burden.

JOURNEY WITH SEUN DEDE

As Seun Dede approached his thirtieth year, another major dimension of his story began to emerge: JWS is not being positioned merely as a birthday celebration. It is a documentation and expression of a journey.

It brings together the different dimensions of his life and ministry—worship, people, music, teaching, service, mentorship, creativity, and the lessons of the years behind him.

The concept recognizes that thirty years is not simply an age.

It is a collection of:

  • People

  • Places

  • Lessons

  • Failures

  • Victories

  • Worship

  • Relationships

  • Ministry

  • Music

  • Service

  • Delays

  • Growth

  • Grace

The journey therefore becomes a way of looking backward with gratitude while looking forward with intentionality.

The developing J30 agenda includes several major expressions.

30 MINISTERS: An intentional development project involving 30 ministers, with foundational insight and mentorship forming a major part of the vision.

This connects directly to RSI. Rather than simply celebrating thirty years, Seun Dede wants to use the season to invest in people.

30 Tertiary Institutions:

A worship expression involving 30 schools across Nigerian states where WMM has a community presence.

The concept turns the number thirty into a worship assignment rather than merely a birthday number.

J30 SPECIAL PROJECT

A special project created specifically as part of the Journey to 30 initiative. The project sits alongside the other expressions and is intended to become one of the memorable markers of this season. The J30 framework continues to develop, with room for many more expressions.

WORDSHIP

One of the interesting conceptual expressions around Seun Dede's work is wordship—the intersection of the Word and worship.

This is consistent with his conviction that worship cannot be separated from truth.

The wider Journey vision has therefore explored taking gospel expressions into as many areas as possible.

The goal is not simply to create another concert.

It is to communicate Christ through word, worship, and intimacy with God.

THE JWS DIGITAL EXPERIENCE

The Journey is increasingly being conceived not just as an event series but as a living digital hub. The intention is for one landing page to contain the important information people need:

  • The story of the journey

  • The vision

  • Current projects

  • Upcoming events

  • J30 initiatives

  • RSI

  • Worship God

  • Music

  • Videos

  • Updates

  • Registration opportunities

  • Social media

  • Ways to connect

  • Photographs

  • Milestones

Rather than forcing people to search through multiple pages or platforms, the journey becomes one central destination.

This reflects a larger shift in Seun Dede's thinking: from creating isolated moments to building an ecosystem around the assignment.

CREATIVE EXPRESSION

Seun Dede is also strongly involved in creative storytelling.

He has developed concepts for Christian short films designed particularly for contemporary Nigerian audiences on platforms such as TikTok, YouTube, and Shorts. These projects demonstrate that Seun Dede's creative interest extends beyond music into visual storytelling and cultural communication.

THE PERSONAL BRAND

The public identity of Minister Seun Dede increasingly sits at the center of several interconnected expressions:

Worshipper
Music Minister
Keyboardist
Teacher
Mentor
Founder
Creative
Ministry Builder

The intention is not to create completely separate identities for each activity.

Instead, the different expressions are connected by one journey.

That is why the phrase Journey With Seun Dede works as more than a campaign title. It describes the entire ecosystem.

His approach increasingly recognizes that ministry should not only be experienced in rooms. It should also be documented, taught, and transferred.

LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT

An important evolution in Seun Dede's thinking has been the move from being primarily concerned with ministry activity to thinking about:

people + systems + structures + sustainability.

He has increasingly considered:

  • Departmental structures

  • Leadership roles

  • Ministerial development

  • Workforce management

  • Organizational growth

  • Administrative systems

  • Partnerships

  • Missions

  • Platforms

  • Long-term ministry strategy

This organizational mindset is part of the maturation of the ministry.

EXCELLENCE AND HONOUR

Seun Dede has also developed systems for recognizing service and excellence within his ministry environment.

WMM award/certificate concepts have included:

  • Distinguished Service

  • Excellence in Worship

  • Excellence in Leadership

  • Founders Award

  • Kingdom Partnership

  • Excellence-related recognitions

This reflects another recurring value in his ministry: people who serve faithfully should be seen, appreciated, and honored.

RELATIONSHIPS AND MENTORSHIP

Relationships have played a major role in Seun Dede's development. He values mentorship, counsel, and relationships with people who can challenge and strengthen him. At the same time, his personal reflection has revealed an increasing awareness of the importance of boundaries, discernment, reciprocity, and healthy relationships. He has recognized that because he naturally gives heavily to people and ministry, betrayal or lack of appreciation can affect him deeply. This has contributed to an ongoing lesson: serving people does not mean abandoning wisdom, boundaries or personal responsibility.

MARRIAGE AND FAMILY

A major personal milestone in this period of his journey has been marriage to Iyanuoluwa Favour Kolawole, whom he affectionately refers to as Iyanu mi or babe.

Their relationship began in 2024

They became engaged through a proposal on:

14 September 2025

Their family introduction took place on:

14 February 2026

They were married on:

16 May 2026

Marriage has therefore become part of the same season in which his ministry and personal identity have been developing rapidly.

Seun Dede has consistently expressed deep love for Iyanu and has desired their marriage to be characterized by:

  • Love

  • Faith

  • Prayer

  • Partnership

  • Growth

  • Service

  • Friendship

  • Spiritual alignment

Their story has also included navigating the practical transition into married life, establishing a home and learning how to balance ministry responsibilities with the responsibilities of being a husband.

For Seun Dede, marriage is not separate from his Christian life.

It is another arena in which love, sacrifice, service, and spiritual maturity must become practical.

HIS VALUES

Across different conversations and seasons, several values consistently emerge in Seun Dede's thinking.

LOVE

He tends to give himself significantly to people and relationships.

SACRIFICE

Service is not merely something he talks about; he often approaches ministry through the willingness to give.

CREATIVITY

Whether through keyboard playing, worship arrangements, films, visual branding, music, or ministry concepts, creative expression is important to him.

SPIRITUALITY

Faith in God remains the foundation underneath his ministry ambitions.

COMPASSION

He is deeply concerned about people, especially people who are developing and need encouragement or direction.

EXCELLENCE

He wants things done properly—not merely completed.

SERVICE

He increasingly emphasizes that ministry is fundamentally service.

GROWTH

He is conscious of his own weaknesses and actively thinks about becoming better.

LEGACY

His thinking has gradually shifted from "What can I accomplish?" toward "What can I build, transfer, and leave behind?"

THE TRANSITION

Perhaps one of the clearest descriptions of Seun Dede's transition is "from becoming to building."

Earlier seasons were heavily concerned with becoming:

Becoming a better musician.

Becoming a better worship leader.

Becoming a minister.

Finding his voice.

Understanding his calling.

Establishing himself.

But the current season increasingly asks different questions:

Who am I raising?

What am I building?

What systems can carry this vision?

How can the next generation become better than the generation before them?

How do I turn ministry experiences into resources?

How do I build platforms that can serve people beyond my personal visibility?

That transition is visible in WMM, RSI, The Worshippers Word, Worship God, and the developing Journey With Seun Dede.

As Seun Dede approaches thirty, his life contains an unusual convergence of milestones.

He has:

  • Continued developing as a musician.

  • Established himself as a worship leader and keyboardist.

  • Built teaching platforms.

  • Founded Worship Mandate Ministries and Seundede and Associates.

  • Developed ministerial structures.

  • Produced music.

  • Written and developed ministry resources.

  • Organized worship gatherings.

  • Mentored younger ministers.

  • Developed the Raising Sounds Initiative.

  • Expanded his expressions.

  • Married.

  • Begun building a home.

  • Developed creative film concepts.

  • Stayed connected to his home church.

  • Begun thinking more intentionally about organizational sustainability.

  • entered a major new chapter through Journey With Seun Dede.

This is why the Journey cannot honestly be reduced to: “Seun Dede turns 30.”

The more accurate story is:

A man looks back at the years that formed him, gathers the people and lessons that shaped his journey, celebrates God's faithfulness, and intentionally uses the next chapter to raise others and build what can serve beyond him.

THE HEART OF JOURNEY WITH SEUN DEDE

At its deepest level, Journey With Seun Dede is about grace and responsibility.

Grace for everything that happened.

Grace for what did not happen when it was expected.

Grace for the doors that opened.

Grace for the relationships.

Grace for the music.

Grace for the ministry.

Grace for the people.

Grace for the years.

But also responsibility.

Responsibility to raise people.

Responsibility to teach.

Responsibility to serve.

Responsibility to build.

Responsibility to steward influence.

Responsibility to use the next chapter well.

The journey therefore becomes both celebration and commission.

It looks backward with gratitude.

It looks around with appreciation.

And it looks forward with intention.

THE MANIFESTATION OF THE JOURNEY

The journey is increasingly becoming a collection of expressions rather than one event.

It includes:

WORSHIP

Through Worship God and spontaneous worship expressions.

WORD

Through teaching, Wordship and The Worshippers Word.

SOUND

Through music, keyboard ministry and Raising Sounds.

PEOPLE

Through mentorship and ministerial development.

OUTREACH

Through missions and the vision for campuses, tertiary institutions and schools.

CREATIVITY

Through music, film, visual storytelling and digital experiences.

LEADERSHIP

Through WMM's developing structures and workforce.

LEGACY

Through intentional investment in people and resources.
